May 28, 2010   //   by admin   //   Creative Partnerships, Harrowden Middle School, learning technology creativity  //  No Comments

Today was a great night for celebrations at Harrowden Middle School. For the past ten weeks Hal MacLean and Matthew Eaves from digitalcreativity.org have been working in conjunction with Year 8 Learners and Staff to learn all about radio and prepare a radio show for a live audience. The show incuded presenting, music, radio plays and interviews and lasted for half an hour.

The project was funded in association with Creative Partnerships.

The evening presentation to parents, families, the community and others at the school was excellent.

Shelley and Matt have been spending time with Salhouse Primary School (Salhouse, Norwich) to produce films for a Creative Partnerships project they have been involved in. The learners have learned about television production, and begun to shoot their own film about “The Secret Door”.

Rugroom Learners Radio Script Writing

We’ve been working with RUGROOM the specialist learning centre for learners with Asperger’s Syndrome to plan and prepare a Radio Play. Our team have been working with the learners over a number of weeks to develop the script using collaborative writing software. The show will be recorded soon.

All the learners work within the same document and are able to see each others contributions, additions and edits live as they happen.
