Digitalcreativity.org’s Workshops are interactive, digital and fun. We run our workshops all over the world. We’ve worked hand in hand with key organisations including the BBC, TVNZ and British Council and we’re proud of what we’ve achieved.
Our workshop structure is designed and adapted for people of all ages who want to know more about to be creative with digital technology. We can work with people of all ages, from the gifted and talented right through to those considered disaffected. We specialise in working with young people from the age of 6 through to 19, we can also deliver training sessions to adult groups.
Our ingredients to achieving are simple, and will only work when managed as a whole. This is what we believe and what we practice when delivering our workshop programmes:
- Ownership: The young people have to be in charge of their film, music or animation project from the start, the idea must be theirs, story board, work pattern and ultimately the delivery mechanism must be their chosen way.
- Ideas: Benchmarks are set on what young people justify themselves as good film, they know what they like and what they want to do no matter what we tell them is a ‘good way of doing things’. We respect that and encourage them to be individual and innovative in their process.
- Support: Having the right people around to advise and offer thinking and support ‘on demand’ really helps. We sometimes draw on experience from other organisations when we can add value to what we’re trying to achieve.
- Equipment and Technology: This has to be easy to use and a good specification. Frustration reduction is paramount. We use the latest and most affordable technologies. We provide loan of our own kit for workshops we run.
- Great Challenge: Setting the right challenge is essential to get the very best from young people. Giving an absolute ‘product length’ and an enjoyable task is a critical success factor. We have a selection of proven challenges which we’ll work with you to identify the most suitable for the group of people we are working with.
- Performance and Evaluation: From and with peers is essential. Good productions come from a desire to please the final audience, and this is why we concentrate hard on working with young people to understand and wow the final audience they are aiming to please. We’ll work with you to ensure a good celebration of achievement is organised and every person involved in the project has a copy of their work.
- Fun & Enjoyment: Distancing the creative experience from traditional taught learning helps keep the entire process ‘outside the box’. Our workshops are both professional and enjoyable.
